Criminal law

Whether you are a suspect or a victim in a criminal prosecution scenario GMW Advocaten’s criminal lawyers are ready to take on your case, drawing on all resources and expertise available in-house.

Criminal law is one of the classical areas of law, always implying three parties: the Prosecutor’s Office, the judge and the defendant. More recently, victims are assigned a special role in the procedure. Whilst it seems quite unlikely, one may be involved in a criminal investigation or procedure unexpectedly. Cyber crime, pirate copying, false written statements, embezzlement and money laundering. You might also be a victim of such a crime.

Our role

GMW Advocaten has extensive experience in all matters covered by criminal law.
For clients treated as suspects we always try to negotiate, even before prosecution starts. If all negotiations fail and charges are pressed we will stand in court with you and for you. In either case clients will benefit from our experience in these matters.

International criminal law

Imagine the following scenario: the French police want to access your PC files in The Netherlands or want to freeze your Dutch bank accounts, suspecting you of fraud in a third country. GMW Advocaten will navigate you through the procedures associated with extradition and surrender, also keeping you abreast of your rights whilst informing you of the different forms of international legal aid available.
