The choice of forum in international divorces
Marjet Groenleer wrote an article about international divorce this month for the Divorce Bulletin (2019, episode 1). The article is interesting both for Dutch couples living in foreign countries and for international couples living in the Netherlands who want to divorce in the Netherlands.

If you are planning to divorce your partner, it does not automatically mean that you can arrange your divorce and everything that comes with it in the Netherlands, even if you would like to do so. Sometimes this will require choosing a forum for your divorce.
In this article, Marjet explains clearly when that is the case, and how the choice of forum has to be made.
