Eva Jongkoen is a family law lawyer and MfN mediator.
Eva is not only a lawyer, but also a psychologist. After gaining a lot of experience in the mental health sector, at the Youth Care Advisory and Complaints Office, the National Ombudsman and the Children’s Ombudsman, Eva became a family law lawyer.
Her two studies and experience make Eva an exceptional lawyer. Eva can combine her legal skills with her knowledge as a psychologist.
From her years of work experience, she knows a lot about families and children in conflict situations. This allows her to add value for her clients.
In family law, Eva handles, among other things, divorce, custody and access issues, maintenance matters and issues concerning parentage, adoption and gender reassignment. Eva aims to achieve the best solution for her clients, not only legally but also a durable one. Eva assists clients with advice, litigation and is a mediator.
When parents of a child end their relationship, they must make arrangements regarding the division of the costs of care and upbringing of their child. Parents are generally free to determine these arrangements themselves. However, the principle is that a child should not suffer any financial disadvantage following the end of their parents' relationship.
When dividing the joint house (for example, in the event of divorce or termination of cohabitation), it often happens that one party takes over the home with the mortgage, and the other party looks for new housing.
When parents split up, agreements have to be made about the care arrangements.
